Who are we?

Many people are looking for an alternative to today's churches. They have grown tired of the God-pimping, talk-show type rhetoric that spills from many pulpits. As millions flock to church buildings each Sunday, millions of others remain broken, poor, hungry, abused and the church is not serving its true purpose.

The Alternative Church was created for those who are looking to serve God and others by following Jesus' greatest commandments: "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Matthew 22:37-40.

Based on the scripture Matthew 22:37-40 The Alternative Church has a two-fold mission:

1. To learn the word of God and apply it to life

2. To serve others

Frequently Ask Questions

How do I become a member of The Alternative Church and what are the requirements?

If you have made a commitment to live by The Bible you can become a member of the AC. We are a church that is active so it is recommended that members regularly attend bible study and participate in service day.

Our bible studies are an open discussion on any topic/scripture presented by any member.

No, there is an organizer/founder of the church and members oversee the ministries of the church.

No. We do not collect tithes.

We believe that members should give according to 2 Corinthians 9: "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever." 2 Corinthians 9:6-9.

We believe that giving should be based on the needs of the community.
